standing outside the bar looking in | By Greg Yerumyan
I see my pain
which is a pain that’s not
real
but it’s still there
just as God’s
still there
just as ghosts just as UFOs
are still there
I see my friends and strangers
I see their freedom
their total unawareness
and I think
my God
it must be nice to controllably
lose control
I walk away and know
that it doesn’t matter
where I go
because in my mind
I’m still outside the bar
looking in
